QE(II) Celebration Grant Application

Working Together to Benefit our Community

The Council has power to award grants which will bring direct benefit to the area of the parish of Alwoodley, or any part of it, or all or some of its inhabitants.

We are planning to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Eliizabeth in a number of ways. However, we know that many organisations will also be organising their own celebrations. The Council therefore invites applications for grants of up to £500 to support activities or projects which will be open to the residents of Alwoodley Parish and which will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of our Monarch.

We also recognise that there will be some types of groups that can’t open their celebrations up to the whole community. Toddler Groups and groups or organisations targeting specific age groups are obvious examples. Therefore we are also make grants of up to £50 available for groups for whom it would be inappropriate to invite all members of the community to participate.

The Council may only make grants for purposes within its statutory powers.

All grant applications are considered and decided in full meetings of the Council.

All grants are discretionary and the Council’s decision is final.

Normally grants will only be made to organisations which have a constitution

and a bank account. If this might cause a problem for you then please contact us.

Grants will be made subject to the following conditions:

         for which it was granted
