The ACA aims to foster social and community activities

and provide a variety of activities

to cater for the recreational interests of the local community:

 

 

The Community Hall was built by the efforts of Alwoodley residents to construct a facility for the entire community by working together to achieve a shared objective: A building committee was set up and after four years of hard work and dedication ACA members not only raised the money to buy materials, but also planned, designed and collectively built the hall themselves (with some technical advice):

 

The building was opened on 12th February 1949

by The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Alderman George Brett OBE, JP.
