We meet on a Friday evening from 7.30 p.m. until approximately 9.30 p.m.
It is then very convenient for members to visit the bar for a drink and a chat, although plenty of ‘chat’ takes place during the course of the evening!
We have three mats – each 30 feet long, two are put down in the main hall and the other in the Council Room.
Members sign in on arrival and place their names on the blackboard which then denotes the order of play. We play in pairs, so there is usually plenty of time for each member to play several games during the evening if they so wish. Tea/coffee and biscuits are available during the evening.
For those wishing to take part we run a Winter Competition from October to February when the Finals are played. Members bring their spouses/family and we make quite an evening of it, including a tasty supper. This year our ACA President Ann Pearce came for the event and presented the trophies - see the photo display below!
